I got an E-Ink badge from Pimoroni, it was kind of a pain to set up but I’m really happy with the result. I got to play around with python a bit and mess around with GIMP to get the images right. I have a bunch of ideas to improve it, lets see if I ever get around to implementing them. No matter what it will be a great addition to my vest.
Between the NSA, Microsoft’s spying and forced upgrades to Windows 10, Google’s ties to the US State Department, and once trusted extensions like Adblock and Ghostery selling information I’ve been a bit freaked out. The Windows 10 privacy violations were the last straw so I switched both my main computers to Linux Mint. This piqued my interest in big data and security in general. I’ve been moving my data to encrypted storage based in Switzerland and use an anonymous VPN whenever possible.
I recently acquired a 3d Printer and have been messing around with it for the past few days. Through trial and error I have started to get the hang of it! Here is my first successful print (other than a few calibration prints). The next step is to smooth it out without destroying the greebles so I can paint it.
